Moonshine Drinks has developed the simplest environment for brewing beers and wines at home. Each beer or wine kit comes with a 'Moonshine brew-bag' with all of the ingredients to create glass after glass of beers or wines. All you have to do is add water and wait.
Within the first 7 to 10 days fermentation will begin within the brew bag, and the yeast will feed off the sugars within the Moonshine extract, the result is alcohol and CO2. This is where the patented yellow brewing cap comes in, allowing the build up of CO2 to vent off.
After this time the drink will start to 'condition'. Moonshine is gravity conditioned, and as it is not filtered or pasteurised, may not always achieve absolute clarity. This ensures that it retains all of its natural goodness.
At this point you can either serve straight from the bag using the tap, or pour into bottles to chill in the fridge - the choice is yours.
Pour 23 pints of warm water into the top of the bag.
At any point in the above step, add the contents of the enclosed sachet marked ‘Moondust for Beers’. Screw the enclosed yellow ‘Brewing Cap’ until it catches (It is important not to over tighten it).
Stand the brew bag in a warm place and leave for nine days.
For best results, carefully move to a cool place for a minimum of seven days making sure the bag is not shaken or unsettled.
Serve and enjoy.
Our beers are naturally conditioned, and have not been filtered or pasteurised. This ensures that they retain all their natural goodness and quality, whilst at times not necessarily achieving absolute clarity at dispense.
Full instructions are provided in the pack, or a PDF version of the brewing instructions is available here.
Pour 6 Litres of warm water into the top of the bag along with the contents of the sachet marked ‘Moondust for Wines’ Screw the enclosed yellow ‘Brewing Cap’ until it catches (It is important not to over tighten it).
Stand the Brew Bag in a warm place and leave for 9 to 11 days depending on the taste you would like:
Add the contents of the sachet marked ‘Moondust Wine Stabiliser’ (Sodium Metabisulphite) and shake the bag vigorously for a minimum of three minutes, releasing the pressure by slightly loosening the yellow cap.
Repeat the shaking process until there is no pressure build up.
Move the Brew Bag to a cool place to condition and after 14 days, check a small amount for clarity and leave for longer if necessary.
Serve and enjoy.
