A GREAT IDEA FOR THE DRINKS MARKET

Back in 2011 Robert Constable Maxwell and Ian Walker came together and looked at an old idea that had been kicking around for a while, with a view to making that idea right for today’s market. Taking inspiration from NASA Scientists, a space-age challenge of turning dried food into something nourishing and satisfying, they wanted to create a home brew product that was simple.  No equipment - just add water to quality ingredients and create beer and wine at home. They wanted to make a convenient, user friendly home brewing kit that would not look out of place in a normal kitchen, and one which had great results after only a couple of weeks.

So that’s where the story began – but how do you take an idea and bring it bang up to date, where do you go for world-class creative thinking in the complexities of brewing, formulation and taste?   With Robert's long-standing knowledge of the brewing industry, having operated at CEO level, and Ian’s long-standing business experience, a number of key partnerships were quickly established with three of the leading universities in the UK, all conveniently on the door step of Moonshine Drinks.

PARTNERING WITH THE BEST

The first of these partnerships began with De Montfort University Leicester, then Nottingham Trent University together with the University of Nottingham.

These brilliant collaborators have provided their facilities, expertise, research and knowledge right from the beginning and continue to do so today.  They offer their ongoing support to a range of R&D projects, some of which are carried out at the Brewing Industry Research centre at Nottingham University’s Sutton Bonington Campus.

MOONSHINE INTO PRODUCTION

Manufactured in the heart of Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, Moonshine have pushed boundaries, and by late 2013 Moonshine Drinks had establish several routes to market - direct sales via their own online presence, a strong reseller network and on to the high street.
